Reuge Onyx & Silver-Plated Musical Lipstick / Cigarette Carousel

An absolutely stunning vintage Reuge musical carousel crafted from richly veined honey-toned onyx and ornate silver-plated metalwork. This is an especially beautiful example, with substantial stone construction, intricate scrolling details, figural feet, and a charming cherub musician finial at the top.

When activated, the carousel opens to reveal a series of hinged panels with individual holders designed for cigarettes or lipstick tubes. As the doors open, the musical movement plays one melody, followed by a second melody as the doors close, creating a wonderful mechanical display as the carousel transforms.

The original Reuge label identifies the Swiss musical movement and the two melodies as “Die Forelle” and “Eine kleine Nachtmusik.” The piece is marked Made in Italy.

The combination of warm natural onyx, silver-plated detailing, ornate hinged panels, and the musical mechanism makes this an incredible statement piece for a vanity, bar, dressing room, or collection of vintage Reuge pieces.
