Reuge Green Onyx Musical Cigarette Carousel, Made in Italy

A truly spectacular vintage Reuge musical cigarette carousel, made in Italy and crafted with richly figured green onyx and ornate silver-tone metalwork. The natural stone is especially beautiful, displaying dramatic variations of olive and moss green with warm rust, rose, cream, and burgundy veining throughout. Because the onyx is a natural material, every section has its own unique pattern and depth.

The carousel features Reuge’s iconic mechanical design. When activated, the paneled center section opens outward to reveal individual cigarette holders before closing again, creating the theatrical movement these vintage dispensers are so well known for. Decorative details include fluted columns, embossed floral motifs, ornate trim, sculptural feet, and a charming cherub musician finial perched at the very top.

Reuge is a celebrated Swiss maker particularly known for its luxury mechanical music boxes and automata. These elaborate cigarette dispensers became striking decorative objects in their own right, combining music, movement, stone, and ornamental metalwork. This Italian-made example is especially impressive for its substantial proportions and the extraordinary coloring of the onyx.
