Bronze Cat Shelf Sitter Sculpture

Charming vintage solid bronze cat sculpture designed as a shelf sitter, with one paw playfully dangling over the edge. The sculpted cat features a beautifully rounded form, curled tail, incised facial details, and a warm aged bronze patina that gives it wonderful character.

This piece was created using the traditional lost-wax casting (cire perdue) technique, a centuries-old method in which a wax model is encased in a mold, the wax is melted away, and molten bronze is poured into the resulting cavity. The process is particularly well suited to preserving sculptural detail and complex forms. 

A wonderful decorative piece for a bookshelf, mantel, desk, or side table and an especially fun find for a cat lover.
