Brass Nautilus Shell Vase

A wonderfully sculptural vintage brass vase modeled after the elegant form of a nautilus shell. The piece has a beautifully exaggerated spiral silhouette, with deeply incised radiating lines following the natural geometry of the shell and continuing along its sweeping sides.

The nautilus rests on an organically modeled base reminiscent of rock or coral, giving the piece the appearance of a treasured object discovered beneath the sea. Its open shell form makes it equally beautiful displayed empty as a sculptural object or used as a cachepot, decorative bowl or vessel.

The warm brass finish and substantial dimensional form give this piece a striking presence from every angle. Beautiful on a console, bookshelf or cocktail table, and particularly wonderful incorporated into a collected coastal, Hollywood Regency or eclectic interior.
