Burl Wood Lidded Box

Beautiful vintage Moroccan thuya burl wood keepsake box in a faceted octagonal form, hand-turned from richly figured burl. The lustrous reddish-brown grain is scattered with dense dark clusters, giving the piece the depth and warmth that thuya burl is prized for.

Beveled corners and a high natural polish catch the light from every angle, while the lift-lid opens to a smooth, softly scented interior well. Thuya is traditionally hand-crafted by Moroccan artisans in Essaouira and Marrakech, and each box carries its own one-of-a-kind figuring.
