Thick beveled glass panels wrap all four sides and the hinged lid, framed in a finely chased ormolu surround with delicate egg-and-dart and beaded banding, while ornate repoussé grapevine columns adorn each corner. The casket rests on a raised base lifted by four turned baluster feet.

Lift the lid to reveal the original button-tufted rose silk cushion, softly faded with age and made to cradle rings, brooches, and delicate keepsakes. A small front hook clasp keeps it closed.
