Art Nouveau Roses Jewelry Casket with Blue Velvet Lining

Beautiful antique Art Nouveau jewelry casket by Brainard & Wilson in bronzed metal, embossed all over with romantic roses, buds and trailing foliage. The hinged domed lid lifts to reveal a rich royal blue velvet lining, and the whole piece rests on four graceful scrolled feet.

The warm gilt-bronze patina and blown-out floral relief give this little treasure box real presence, while the underside carries a "B & W" maker's stamp and a "PATENTED 4-4-04" date, placing it in 1904. A lovely keepsake for rings and small jewels, or a charming accent on a vanity, nightstand or shelf.
