British War Dog Handler Print (c. 1929)

$120.00
The catalog card

An exceptional and rare black-and-white plate depicting a female British war dog handler in uniform, standing with four dogs on lead beside their kennels. The group appears to include an Airedale Terrier, two Border Collies (or English Shepherds), and a sheepdog—an incredible glimpse into early military working dog history.

The caption reads “My ADC,” referencing Major Richardson’s Aide-de-Camp, a notable figure in British war dog training. This image offers a powerful and uncommon perspective, highlighting the role of women and working dogs in wartime.

This piece originates from an extremely rare antique book circa 1929. It is a separate plate with a blank back, indicating it was printed independently for higher quality and later tipped in or sewn into the book during binding.
